Tundra Defeats BetBoom Team at DreamLeague 28 in Dota 2
On February 26th, Tundra Esports defeated BetBoom Team in the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 28 for Dota 2 with a score of 2:1, securing their spot in the playoffs. BB Team found themselves in a precarious position.
In the first game, Tundra seized the initiative early on. Confident laning, rune control, and quick smokes allowed them to build an advantage. Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko on Muerta finished the game with a score of 11/2/12, consistently joining fights and shutting down the enemy carry's space.
The second game went to BetBoom Team. The squad opted for a more active tempo, played aggressively in the midgame, and managed to force Tundra into unfavorable fights. BB capitalized on their objective advantage and leveled the series.
The decisive third game once again went to Tundra. Pure got Muerta again and delivered an even more confident performance — 16/3/11. The team won their lanes, quickly built up an economic lead, and expertly utilized the Aegis, sealing the series victory for the European squad.
For Pure, this marks his 10th consecutive win on Muerta, making the hero one of Tundra's primary win conditions in this tournament.
Heading into the final day of play, Tundra holds a 5–1 record and has already secured their playoff berth. The team is demonstrating stability across all key metrics: lane wins, Roshan control, and a high rate of converting advantages.
BetBoom Team is in a much more difficult situation at 2–4. The squad remains at risk, holding onto only mathematical chances to cling to the lower bracket.
In the parallel series of the second group stage, a tight battle for the top 4 continues:
- Team Liquid maintains the lead, showing consistent form and minimal late-game errors.
- Aurora Gaming, after a broken win streak, is trying to regain confidence and solidify their playoff position.
- PARIVISION, on the contrary, has already lost its chances to advance and is playing out the stage without tournament motivation.
On February 27th, Tundra will play against Liquid in a match that could determine the final standings in the upper part of the table. BetBoom Team will face Aurora, and for BB, this will be a fight for survival.
