"This is a battle for the fate of your world" — watch the trailer for 'Mortal Kombat 2'
As part of IGN Fan Fest, the creators of 'Mortal Kombat 2' presented a fresh trailer. It featured glimpses of many faces familiar from the fighting game series, such as Kitana, Jade, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, and, of course, the main hero — Johnny Cage.
According to the plot of the second 'Mortal Kombat' film, Johnny Cage joins a bloody battle upon which the fate of the Earthrealm depends. The action movie star, together with other fighters, must challenge the tyranny of Shao Kahn and save the world from enslavement.

The international premiere of the sequel is scheduled for May 6, while screenings in the film's home country, the USA, will begin on May 8.
The director is once again Simon McQuoid, who was responsible for the previous 'Mortal Kombat' film. The screenplay was written by Jeremy Slater, who also contributed to projects like the horror film 'The Lazarus Effect' and the series 'Moon Knight'.
A third film is already being planned.
