The world could get two Call of Duty games in one year: all due to the next-gen console delay
The delay of the next Xbox generation has thrown a wrench in Activision's plans: instead of the scheduled release of a new Call of Duty at the console's launch, they are now considering releasing two games at once. This was reported by insider TheGhostOfHope.
Originally, Activision wanted Modern Warfare to launch simultaneously with the console and compete with the hype even of GTA 6. Now, the idea has emerged to release two parts: a classic multiplayer game and a separate zombie game from Treyarch studio.
According to the insider, Microsoft is urging Activision to move away from strict annual releases in favor of flexibility and faster development.
