User Claims Apple Watch Left a Burn on His Wrist — and Has Been Trying to Get a Response from Apple for Six Months

A person who wears an Apple Watch says the device scorched his wrist, and that every attempt to get answers from Apple support has dragged on for months.

The account was posted on Reddit by Southern_Chest_9084. He says that on September 24, 2025, while using his laptop, he suddenly felt a sharp heat where the watch sat. After slipping it off, he found a burn in the outline of the watch case, with blisters and visibly damaged skin.

Afterward he contacted Apple support, but the follow-up turned into a long, frustrating back-and-forth. Over roughly six months he says he spoke to multiple reps, was left on hold for 30 mins at times, and had to repeat the whole story to new people on several occasions.

One rep reportedly floated the idea of a skin allergy rather than device overheating. Support asked for a diagnostic and said the watch could be sent to engineers in Ireland for inspection. Problems piled up around handing the device over: he claims a courier pickup was promised because the nearest Apple store is about two hrs away, yet later messages went unanswered and another advisor said Apple doesn’t offer home pickup at all.

When he finally went to the store in person, staff allegedly had no record of the case and again suggested skin sensitivity as a possible cause.

By March 2026 the poster says his patience ran out. He describes ignored requests, dropped calls, and conflicting explanations from support staff. He’s now weighing legal options, convinced the company ought to treat potential device injuries with more urgency.
