CDPR supervised the authors of Reigns: The Witcher, so there won’t be “zombie Witchers” in the game
Publisher Devolver Digital and studio Nerial recently announced Reigns: The Witcher — a narrative game about tough decisions. According to its developers, CD Projekt RED ensured that the spin-off conveys the spirit of The Witcher universe.
Narrative designer of Reigns Oscar Harrington-Shaw and design director François Alliot gave an interview to GamesRadar+. According to them, every script for the upcoming The Witcher was approved by lore experts, writers, and producers at CDPR.
The team at Nerial also revealed that they planned to introduce the Trial of Herbs into the plot — apparently, someone started creating or even resurrecting mutants again. However, CDPR considered that “hordes of zombie Witchers” would be going too far.
Recall that the main role in the fresh Reigns is given to Geralt of Rivia. The story is presented as not entirely truthful ballads by Dandelion. Nerial promises a nonlinear story with thousands of scenario combinations. Fans of The Witcher will meet familiar characters like Yennefer, Triss, and Vesemir.
Reigns: The Witcher will be released on February 25 for PC (Steam, GOG), iOS, and Android. Russian localization is available.
