The expansion Shifting Sands for Soulmask dumps players into an Egypt-flavored, sci-fi mashup — think crumbling tombs tangled with gleaming tech. It’s a weird mix, and oddly compelling: ancient stone and circuitry rubbing shoulders.

Exploration begins at a river delta and pushes outward through sulfur lakes, inverted temples, and winding underground labyrinths. Movement across those zones calls for new transportation and equipment (i.e., changed movement mechanics and kit to get you where you need to go).

You’ll also be able to assemble flying fortresses outfitted with defensive weapons — yes, literal airborne strongholds — and a blueprint system is in place to speed up construction, esp. for large or complex builds.

Version 1.0 and the Shifting Sands expansion arrive on April 10, 2026. At that point the game exits early access as a full sandbox with deeper tribe management: interaction systems, difficulty, and balance have been reworked. A tutorial system is ready for newcomers, allowing faster acclimation even if you spawn directly into the expansion’s territories (though don’t expect everything to be perfectly tidy right away).
