Resident Evil 2 Remake to Receive an Arcade Version for Two Players in a Cabinet Format

Capcom and Bandai Namco are prepping an arcade edition of the Resident Evil 2 remake that leans into physical effects. Controllers will look and feel like real firearms, with recoil simulation; the cabinet also uses a vibrating floor plus an air-flow system to push atmospherics closer to the player — a kind of IRL immersion, w/ tactile and sfx cues.

This marks the series’ first push into two-player coop. Plot-wise it departs from canon: the trailer shows Hunters from RE3 and an encounter with Ada that plays out under unusual circumstances, so expect alternate beats rather than a straight retelling.

Testing in Japan is slated to start in mid-March, with a full release planned for Japan and Europe in late 2026.
