Techmarine Bursts into Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

The developers of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 have released the massive 12.0 update, which is now available on all platforms. The patch adds numerous new features that expand gameplay in both PvE and PvP modes.

The main addition is the new playable class, the Techmarine. This mighty technician specializes in crowd control and area defense, performing several combat tasks simultaneously. The class's key ability is the Servo-Gun: when activated, it automatically fires at enemies within line of sight while the Techmarine engages in melee or ranged combat. Furthermore, the Servo-Gun allows for weapon strikes without interrupting other actions.

Along with the class, players will receive its signature weapon — the Omnissian Axe. It deals massive damage to a single target with standard attacks and to surrounding enemies with heavy finishing blows. A powerful charge attack is available as a starting heavy attack, hitting all enemies in its path.

A new PvE mechanic has been introduced: Techmarines can find and activate Tarantula Sentry Guns in missions. These stationary turrets provide automatic suppressive fire against nearby enemies. The turrets have limited ammunition — once depleted, the installation goes into standby mode, but a Techmarine can restart it and replenish its ammo.

The updated content includes:

  • A new PvE map, "Disruption." Space Marines are sent to the hive city of Avarax: first, they must bolster the Cadian defense against a massive Tyranid swarm, and then — alongside a Dreadnought — destroy the forces of the Thousand Sons that have infiltrated the city's lower levels.
  • Restorative Stimms — new healing equipment for PvE. When used, it first restores a small amount of health, then gradually replenishes a significant amount of contested health, encouraging an aggressive playstyle.

Among other important improvements:

  • Universal head customization for PvE and PvP characters: you can now choose any face for armor regardless of class (for example, putting an Assault head on a Heavy class).
  • Voice (VO) Selector for characters: the option is available in the "Edit Armour" menu in the Armoury.
  • Custom Stratagem mode for PvE: players can create private matches with any combination of battlefield conditions. This allows for tailoring the game to your liking or simply setting up chaotic battles (all rewards are disabled in this mode).
  • Host migration in Siege mode: if the server crashes, the game continues on a new server from the last saved state.
  • 21 new battlefield conditions to diversify daily and weekly stratagems.

Update 12.0 significantly expands the possibilities of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, offering players more freedom in customization, new tactical tools, and fresh content to explore. Check out all the new features right now on your platform.
