Following its opening weekend, the horror film "Return to Silent Hill" grossed only $2.3 million in the US. On its premiere day, it earned $1.6 million, marking the worst opening day result within the film trilogy.

  • "Silent Hill" — $8.1 million;
  • "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D" — $3.6 million;
  • "Return to Silent Hill" — $1.6 million.

Regarding the US box office for the past weekend, Cineverse CEO (one of the distributors for "Return to Silent Hill") Chris McGurk hopes the situation will change soon and that new releases can "recoup some of the lost revenue."

Directed by Christophe Gans, the film "Return to Silent Hill" was released last week, including in Russia. Unfortunately, it received scathing reviews from viewers and critics.
