New trailer for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls dedicated to Spider-Man’s team
While the folks at Arc System Works are juggling the fifth season of Guilty Gear: Strive, they’ve also been quietly polishing a superhero brawler: MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls. A fresh trailer just landed — this one shines on Spider-Man’s crew.
Spider-Man, the “friendly neighborhood” type, isn’t solo here. The roster in the clip includes Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker. Quick, colorful, and a bit off-kilter.
On the PlayStation blog, Takeshi Yamanaka says Episodes mode will show how this squad forms — scene-by-scene, apparently. Not a dry briefing; more like snapshots that stitch together a backstory.
Yamanaka also lingered on The Promoter, another character teased in the trailer. Her name: Sirena Avina. She’s one of the Elders of the Universe and travels the cosmos staging huge spectacle events — think gladiatorial tourneys on a cosmic scale — and one such tournament threads through the game’s story. Details are sparse for now; more info promised later.
There’s a small, silly system worth noting: the game auto-generates team names from Marvel lore. According to Yamanaka, the name pops up on-screen and the narrator even reads it aloud. “The name appears on the screen and is even announced by the narrator. Try different combinations to find cool, unexpected, or just funny team names,” he said. Try combos; you might get something oddly perfect (or just laughable).
MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls arrives August 6 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and PS5. No Russian localization is included. Pre-orders are open.
