New Gacha Project Spirits from the creators of NIKKE and Stellar Blade is heavily inspired by Expedition 33
Shift Up's new gacha, Project Spirits, has wandered away from its original sketch. Once called Project: Witches and pitched as a PvE monster-hunting action title, it has been reshaped into a turn-based RPG and borrows quite a bit from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Most of the work is being done in China, with the Korean office playing a fairly small role (i.e., limited oversight). Folks assigned to the Stellar Blade follow-up—esp. members of that team—seem lukewarm about this sideline; whispers point to low enthusiasm rather than outright excitement.
No formal announcement has been issued. ETA is around 2027 if the schedule holds, though sources caution that this is tentative.
