Lionhearts Team Reports Progress on Game Development
The studio working on the Lionhearts project (the game is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 and is planned for release on Steam) has published another weekly development progress report. In it, the developers shared key achievements and made important announcements to the community.
This week, the team's main focus was on integrating combat NPCs into the new BaseCharacter framework. Programmers made significant progress in solving long-standing artificial intelligence issues. Non-player characters now behave much more realistically: they correctly play death animations, equip weapons properly, and reliably track the player during battles. According to the developers' estimates, NPC functionality is already nearing completion.
Simultaneously, work continues on refining the combat system. Specialists are finishing work on the bowstring drawing animation, although the process has temporarily slowed down due to technical difficulties with the weapon model. Furthermore, new sword block animations have been added to the game, which will make combat scenes more varied and enrich the tactical aspect of the gameplay.
Significant attention has been paid to improving project stability: programmers identified and fixed several critical bugs that previously caused crashes. These improvements have already had a positive impact on the overall stability of the game.
