Legendary Final Fantasy VII Sells 15.5 Million Copies
The iconic Final Fantasy VII continues to reach new heights nearly 30 years after its release. Square Enix has announced that the game's sales have exceeded 15.5 million copies.
Since mid-2025, the classic has sold an additional 400,000 copies—a steady result proving that interest in Cloud's adventures remains strong.
Approximately 10 million sales came from the original PlayStation, but the game is also available on PC, as well as all modern consoles and mobile platforms. Each re-release introduces the masterpiece to a new generation of players.
For comparison: the entire Final Fantasy series has sold 207 million copies, while FF XV and the FFVII Remake lag significantly behind the original—at 10.3 and 7 million copies respectively.
