The launch of the new fable has been postponed until february 2027

That statement still stands — but there's a twist. Matt Booty, revealed on the official podcast that the reboot's launch is now aimed at February 2027 instead of fall 2026.

According to Booty, the team is pleased with progress; the decision to move the date is about timing more than polish. "We need the project to have its own window, free from competitors — so we are moving the release from this fall to February," he said. Year-end is crowded, esp. in 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI is expected in November, and XBOX itself may have major entries like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 and possibly Gears of War: E-Day on the fall slate.

When it ships, Fable will come to PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series — incl. Game Pass. For now, only English and Chinese are listed among supported languages. The reboot was once slated to arrive as early as 2025, so this latest shift continues a pattern of schedule changes, whether for strategic reasons or otherwise.
