Indie Project Shadowglass Gains Popularity on Steam
Independent developer Dominic John (Starhelm Studios) has reached a significant milestone in promoting his ambitious project, Project Shadowglass. The game has captured the attention of the gaming community: the number of users who have added it to their Steam wishlist has exceeded 100,000 people.
The project is positioned as a tribute to classic immersive sims like Thief, Deus Ex, and System Shock. At the same time, Project Shadowglass stands out with its original visual style, which combines retro aesthetics with modern technology.
The key technological solution of the game is a non-standard approach to rendering on the Godot engine. The developer managed to create the effect of nostalgic pixel art in a full-fledged 3D space with a 360-degree view. This artistic technique creates a unique atmosphere, simultaneously referencing old games and leveraging the advantages of modern graphics.
Dominic John assures that no artificial intelligence tools were used in the development of Project Shadowglass. All visual elements, soundtracks, and game assets were created manually, giving the project a genuine authorial identity and emphasizing the value of manual labor in the age of automation.
