The Dungeons & Dragons Online team shares details on the game's 20th-anniversary rewards and activities
The Dungeons & Dragons Online team has shared additional information ahead of the game's 20th anniversary and the release of Update 78: Natural 20. The program includes a special anniversary token and rewards, a preview of the Remnant’s Rush activity, and the Arcane Trickster archetype, which will be available for free during the grand anniversary event.
The 20th-anniversary celebration will last until March 31, with Anniversary Island serving as the central hub for the festivities. The DDO 20th Anniversary Center has received some updates, and the team will continue to share more information as the grand anniversary event approaches.
First, the anniversary token will be introduced with Update 78, and every character will receive one. You will then need to decide which reward to spend your token on. There are several options: you can choose the simple route and receive 200,000 XP, which will be applied immediately. Alternatively, you can obtain various types of equipment and gear, each with its own set of bonuses.
Sterling’s Remnant Rush is an evolving event, and the Dungeons & Dragons Online team is sharing a guide on how to make the most of it. This event will not only be available with the update but will remain accessible until the end of the game's 20th-anniversary celebration. Collect mysterious remnants throughout the universe. Once you've gathered them, you can exchange the remnants with Sterling, the Treasure Keeper, for special
Finally, the Arcane Trickster archetype will be showcased in detail in the anniversary hub, but it was recently featured in the latest Fridays at Four stream with Cordovan and Lead Systems Designer Tork. The Arcane Trickster is described as a rogue with magic, a sort of Rogue subclass that combines sneak attacks and trap disarming with a wide array of magical tools. The "Mage Hand" plays a key role here, allowing you to disarm traps from a distance, for example. You can also snap your fingers, and a monster will simply disappear. The Arcane Trickster will steal spells and combine them to create their own unique playstyle.
The stream also covered some of the differences between playing a traditional Rogue and the Trickster. While they start out similarly, there are distinctions, and the discussion includes plenty of interesting details if this class has piqued your interest. It's worth noting that you will have the opportunity to obtain it for free once the anniversary event begins, but only until it ends, after which it will become available in the store.
