Developers of MMORPG Mortal Online 2 are preparing to release a major update very soon
The developers of the MMORPG Mortal Online 2 have unveiled a major update that will bring significant changes to the game's core mechanics. The main innovations affect the communication system, world dynamics, item balance, and protection against unsportsmanlike player behavior.
One of the most noticeable improvements is a deep overhaul of the VoIP chat system. Player voices now organically fit into the three-dimensional space of the game world. Sound effects are no longer simply adjusted for volume based on distance—they are realistically reproduced from a specific point in the environment, reflect off walls in enclosed spaces, and sound muffled behind obstacles. The developers have also expanded the hearing radius, allowing players to pick up conversations at a significantly greater distance than before.
Significant changes also affect the game world's content. A foundation for a new dynamic event system has been introduced, designed to make interactions with AI enemies more diverse and unpredictable. Various groups of non-player characters can now appear across the game world—from deserters of the Tindrem army to wandering merchants and madmen. The Greedy Troll, who can even be encountered in dungeons, deserves special attention. Each such group has a unique loot table, turning random encounters into potentially profitable adventures. Players will receive a server notification about the start of an event, although the exact location will remain unknown—the developers are ready to adjust this mechanic based on community feedback.
The necklace and ring system has undergone a significant overhaul. The developers have revised the balance of T1 (Cuprum) and T2 (Silver) tier items, as well as their corresponding gems (Red Coral and Amethyst). These items can now achieve significantly higher stats, making them more attractive for new players. At the same time, rare rings and necklaces still retain their advantage, although the power gap has become less noticeable.
The update also includes a set of measures to combat unsportsmanlike player behavior. A priority loot access system has been implemented: now only the player who contributed the most to defeating an AI (determined by glory points) gets the right to open the loot bag first for the first 10 seconds. To visually indicate this right, such bags are highlighted in purple. Guild members retain the ability to freely exchange loot.
Significant changes have also occurred in the murder report system. Now, to report a player for a kill, strict conditions must be met. The player must have been attacked no more than 2 minutes before their death. Furthermore, kills are no longer counted when dying from a fall or at the hands of NPCs. These measures are aimed at preventing abuse of the system.
Another useful addition is the ability to push mobs, including horses, if they are blocking passages or narrow spaces. The moved creature automatically returns to its original position after a few seconds, helping to avoid conflicts over blocked areas.
Finally, the developers have strengthened the Counter Reduced mechanic, responsible for reducing damage during a riposte after a parry. It now provides an 80% damage reduction instead of the previous 60%. This change gives outnumbered players more opportunities for active defense and counterattacks, allowing them to more effectively fight back against superior enemy forces.
