Asexual Sophie Turner Does Not Want to Make Lara Croft a Sex Bomb
Sophie Turner, the new actress playing Lara Croft, has promised to move away from the usual sex symbol image. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress stated that her version of the tomb raider will primarily be a story about a woman, her motivations, and inner strength, rather than about external attractiveness.
Turner emphasized that her character does not hide her abilities at all and is proud of them. Preparing for the role turned out to be serious: eleven months of training changed not only the actress’s physical condition but also her worldview. Now, walking with her children, she finds herself thinking that she is ready not to run away but to fight back if danger arises.
The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and other stars. The premiere date is still being kept secret.
