Creator of "Better Call Saul" is filming a new series about a wealthy inheritance and family secrets

Screenwriter and director Peter Gould has begun work on a new series called Disinherited. The pilot episode is already in the can; a premiere date, however, has not been announced.

Victoria Pedretti — familiar to many from The Haunting of Hill House — and Kira Allen (seen in The Good Doctor) lead the pilot. They play two sisters who, out of the blue, come into a large inheritance and find themselves very wealthy. Wealth, though, is only the surface: old wounds reopen, past crimes resurface, and meddlesome relatives start barging in. Complications pile up, e.g., legal tangles and awkward confrontations; nothing stays simple for long.

The supporting cast includes Karl Glusman, Alan Ruck, Katja Herbers, Eddie Marsan, and Jonathan Higginbotham.

As for Gould: he’s best known as the co-creator and showrunner of Better Call Saul, a series that earned critical attention and several Emmy Awards. This new effort is his next TV project—one that some viewers will welcome eagerly and others will wait to judge.
