Boss of Lords of the Fallen II Authors Responds to Elden Ring Nightreign Plagiarism Accusations
CI Games team releases images of enemies from the upcoming Lords of the Fallen II. Users noted that one of the adversaries suspiciously resembles a character from Elden Ring Nightreign. According to the company's CEO, Marek Tymiński, it's nothing more than a coincidence.
Recently, CI Games showed an armored warrior called the Crescent. Some players believe the HexWorks development studio "borrowed" the image from Nightreign's Wylder.
Later, Tymiński called the plagiarism accusations "100% false." He stated that the character design for Lords of the Fallen II was completed on July 17, 2024 - almost six months before Nightreign was announced. As for the resemblance to Wylder, he suggests there's nothing surprising: both warriors are knights in armor.
In medieval fantasy design, visual overlaps can occur. We respect FromSoftware, but we do not copy other studios' work. The armor design in Lords of the Fallen received much praise, and we're confident Lords II will continue in the same spirit. We fully support our artists, their originality, and the integrity of their work.

In the comments to his post, the director assured that despite the online accusations, the HexWorks team remains focused on creating the game.
This is incredibly stupid and it sucks so many devs have to play this stupid game of responding to obviously false claims instead of getting to focus on developing the game.
