ASUS ROG Ally X Price Skyrockets Before Our Eyes Due to Memory Crisis
Japanese gamers have already faced an unpleasant surprise. The price of the ASUS ROG Ally X portable gaming console has sharply increased in local retail chains. According to TechPowerUp, the device's price has risen by a significant amount in a number of major stores, making the console an even more expensive indulgence compared to its competitors.
Initially, the console cost approximately 140,000 yen, but now it is virtually impossible to find for less than 170,000 yen.
As always, the main reason cited is the same global memory market crisis. The ROG Ally X is equipped with a substantial 24 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM. As demand for high-speed memory from the AI industry continues to grow, component manufacturers are prioritizing server orders, leading to shortages and price increases for modules used in consumer electronics.
