Terraria Receives Major Update with Palworld and Dead Cells Crossovers

The adventure sandbox game Terraria has received its promised major update 1.4.5, Bigger & Boulder. The studio Re-Logic called it an excellent way to kick off the game's 15th-anniversary year—it not only adds new content but also features improvements to existing mechanics.

Some of the new features can be seen in the trailer. It informs viewers that Terraria's sales have surpassed 64 million copies since its release in 2011. This is followed by a showcase of the 1.4.5 content—the crossover with the roguelike platformer Dead Cells immediately catches the eye. Players will be able to obtain themed weapons and decorations, reimagined in a pixel-art style. Furthermore, various Pals from Palworld have made their way into Terraria—they will serve not just as pets but as loyal allies in battle.

In the latest update, Re-Logic decided to improve the crafting menu interface—items are now organized into categories, and a specific recipe can be found using a search bar. If desired, players can switch back to the old interface version. Additionally, crafting stations now take into account items from nearby chests, not just the player's inventory.

The new version of Terraria introduces even more blocks and decorations, eight musical tracks for boss battles, a remote-controlled car, new background art for biomes, and items created in collaboration with a terminally ill fan of the game. Balance adjustments and bug fixes are also included.
