Tarkov players respond to Arc Raiders developers about adding a flea market — it will completely destroy the very essence of the game
Talk around Arc Raiders drifted into whether the studio should graft on a Tarkov-style flea market. The devs didn’t shut the idea down — they called it interesting and said it’s something to consider down the line — but, critically, no decisions have been made.
Reaction from the playerbase leaned negative. Tarkov vets (many outspoken) warned that a tradable economy would upend the current loot dynamics; some posts were blunt, even angry. The common complaint: right now each found item carries its own value in context, forcing trade-offs. If everything converts easily to a single currency, those on-the-spot tactical choices vanish and progression risks becoming a grind for cash.
People also pointed out the games aren’t the same beast. Tarkov’s inventory depth — tons of ammo types, parts, mods, etc. — is what made a complex market logical. Arc Raiders, as-is, doesn’t mirror that richness, so slapping on a flea market could feel out of place, not just tacked-on.
