Soulmask will try to bring back players with simplified building and allow constructing bases without unnecessary hassle

The team behind Soulmask is rolling out a sizable building-system update next week. The headline change is a new Building Mode: hold the construction hammer to pull up a list of all buildable structures and see required materials at a glance. If the parts are already in your inventory or camp chests, the object can be placed immediately — no need to pre-craft components (i.e., the assembly step is skipped when resources are on hand).

Old workflows will still be available. Players can continue to use planning mode, unlimited building, and assign construction tasks to tribe members, so nothing is being forcibly removed from familiar playstyles.

Other tweaks arriving with the patch include compact garden beds aimed at tiny camps, higher load limits for riding elephants, a rework of how building elements bind together, and broader options for the ropeway network. One planned feature — saving and transferring completed buildings — has been delayed because it proved trickier than expected to implement correctly.

The developers also say they’re polishing the interface to make it cleaner and more convenient without upending the way people already play. For the official announcement see: Steam.
