Shailene Woodley to Star in Erotic Thriller Mother’s Helper
Shailene Woodley (“Big Little Lies,” “Adrift”) will star in the erotic thriller Mother’s Helper — a move that reads less like a safe bet and more like a deliberate turn.
She’ll be joined by Luke Kirby (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Milo Callahan (“The Benefactor”), both attached to pivotal roles; casting that promises friction more than comfort.
The story follows a woman trying to keep job and home from unraveling; she brings an attractive young man in to help w/ the household, and complications follow. Small domestic chores, big emotional stakes — and not in the usual, neat way.
Bridget Moloney wrote the screenplay and will direct. This is her feature directorial debut — a first feature, with all the risks and questions that come with one.
