X-Men, Spider-Man, and Avengers in 8-bit and 16-bit — Announcement of MARVEL MaXimum Collection
Limited Run Games, with support from Konami and Marvel Games, has announced the MARVEL MaXimum Collection for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. A release date for this collection of six games from the 8-bit and 16-bit era in various versions is not yet available.
- X-Men: The Arcade Game (1992, arcade) – a beat 'em up about mutants with online play for up to six players;
- Captain America and The Avengers (1991, arcade, SEGA Mega Drive, NES) – featuring Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Vision;
- Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (1994, SNES, SEGA Mega Drive) – a cult crossover from the comics with brawling on the streets of New York;
- Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (1995, SNES, SEGA Mega Drive) – take on the Life Foundation and Carnage's offspring alone or with a friend;
- Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge (1992, SNES, SEGA Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Gear) – Spider-Man and the X-Men vs. Arcade in his Murderworld;
- Silver Surfer (1990, NES) – one of the most difficult shooters ever released on consoles.
All of this comes with an archive, music, rewind and save features, graphics options, rollback netcode for X-Men: The Arcade Game, a museum, and cheats.
