Rockstar Games honored the memory of Lord Sear — rapper and Game FM radio host from GTA 3
Rockstar Games shared a tribute to Lord Sear, the DJ and radio presenter who passed away at 53. He turned up in the series in a few small but memorable ways: he voiced a pedestrian in Grand Theft Auto IV, and he hosted the fan‑beloved station Game Radio FM in Grand Theft Auto III.
“Rest in peace, Lord Sear — a titan of New York hip-hop and the host of Game FM in GTA 3,” Rockstar Games wrote on social media.
The news first appeared on the social feeds of the rap station Shade 45, Eminem’s channel — Lord Sear had been on air there since '04. Over the years he dropped tracks and worked with big names in hip‑hop, from Wu‑Tang Clan to Jay‑Z.
Rockstar acknowledging him makes sense. The studio has a habit of folding real artists into its fiction — DJs, guest appearances, and later cameos in GTA Online as themselves (e.g., Dr. Dre). Still, seeing his name on their page feels oddly personal; you remember the late‑night drives in the game and the voice on the FM.
