Rocket League goes deep underground: what awaits players in season 24

On September 23, Rocket League launches a major overhaul with the start of its new season, shifting the focus toward uncompromising competitiveness and style and introducing a number of long-awaited features.

The centerpiece is "Honor Duel", a dedicated 1v1 option that lets players challenge an opponent to a personal duel immediately after a match ends. While the rest of the lobby watches, the two competitors can settle who is cooler in a head-to-head showdown.

Item trading also arrives with the addition of the "Black Market", which will let players trade items and put accumulated duplicates to use.

Presentation changes come too: top performers from each match will be highlighted on an MVP podium, accompanied by a dramatic goal replay that showcases standout moments.

Controls for keyboard and mouse have been reworked, including the addition of a free camera look to improve player view and control.

The season opens with two timed events: the Run It Up mode, which features a unique Nova collection, and the survival-focused Bullet Ball. A Persona 5 crossover will follow shortly after, beginning on September 25.
