Resident Evil Requiem — "Two games in one." What we saw at the Resident Evil Showcase At the Resident Evil Showcase event held last night, Capcom presented 12 minutes of fresh gameplay Resident Evil Requiem. The main message of the presentation was that players will get two radically different gaming experiences within one story campaign. Game director Koshi Nakanishi said that the segments featuring the two protagonists feel like different games. In the case of Grace Ashcroft, the gameplay is focused on classic horror in the spirit of RE2 and RE7. She is physically weaker, forced to act stealthily and conserve resources. New mechanics for Grace will allow her to collect the blood of slain enemies to craft syringes with compounds that cause, for example, zombies to explode from within. As for Leon Kennedy, the game turns into a fast-paced action game in the style of RE4. The arsenal includes parrying, spinning kicks, and the ability to use enemies' weapons against them. In Requiem, zombies retain remnants of their living habits. The trailer showed a zombie chef who continues to "cook" in the kitchen and a zombie cleaner. The most frightening moment is when a zombie tries to talk to Grace, hinting at a new, more complex strain of the virus (Elpis). The game is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
