Resident Evil Producer Released a Message to Fans on the 30th Anniversary of the Series

Capcom shared a note from Resident Evil executive producer Jun Takeuchi to mark the franchise's 30th anniversary. In it, Takeuchi thanks players for their long-time support and points to the performance of Resident Evil Requiem.

To our beloved fans of the Resident Evil series,

Hard to believe, but it's been 30 years since Resident Evil first arrived.

We're deeply grateful to everyone who's been with us since that launch on March 22, 1996 — honestly, it means a lot.

Last month we released Resident Evil Requiem, which brings players back to Raccoon City and blends the series' scare-driven moments with more intense combat. FYI: Requiem has reached over 6M players worldwide — a humbling milestone.

The team isn't stopping; folks here are still experimenting, iterating, and losing a bit of sleep to make new things we hope you'll enjoy. It would be an honor if you kept walking this strange, spooky road with us.

Again — thanks for sticking with us.
