Remedy Entertainment Studio Decided to Drop the Number 2 in Control Resonant for an Important Story Reason

Remedy Entertainment studio explained why the upcoming sequel to Control is titled Control Resonant and not Control 2. The decision is directly tied to the central threat that the player will face in the role of Dylan—the brother of the original game's protagonist.

The key concept of the new installment is "Resonants." This is what they call people who once possessed immense power and are now consumed by supernatural forces. Corrupted by their own might, they have become the main antagonists for the protagonist.

It is in honor of these beings that the title Control Resonant was chosen—it is meant to immediately set the narrative tone and emphasize the nature of the primary threat.

Players will be able to judge these reasons for themselves later this year. The game is preparing for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
