Pure chthonic horror in the story trailer for cthulhu the cosmic abyss

Publisher Nacon and Big Bad Wolf — the studio behind The Council and Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong — have released a new story trailer for the horror game Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. The trailer coincides with pre-orders going live.

The timeline: 2053. Surface resources are gone and deep-sea drilling has become routine as corporations push into the Pacific's darkest trenches. You play Noah, an agent in Interpol (Interp.) assigned to ANCILE — a covert occ. div. that handles the weird and the dangerous. His partner is KEY, an AI, and together they must probe the disappearance of miners at the Ocean‑I station. Terrifying work, and yes, someone thought this was a good idea.

Tech notes: the game runs on UE5 and leans hard into photoreal visuals and advanced lighting to sell the oppressive feel of the abyss — flickers, shafts, and the kind of shadows that make you check the corners twice.

Release: April 16 on PC and current‑gen consoles (PS5, XSX).
