NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 20 GB of VRAM Overclocked with 550W Power Supply
The world of computer hardware is full of "ghosts" — components that were fully prepared for release but were canceled by manufacturers at the last moment. One such legend is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with an impressive 20 GB of video memory. Recently, one of the rare engineering samples of this model fell into the hands of enthusiasts who decided to find out what this rarity is capable of when all limitations are removed.
Initially, this card was supposed to occupy the niche between the regular RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3090, offering almost top-tier memory capacity. However, the project was canceled, and only a few working prototypes ended up in private collections. The tested sample underwent serious modifications: the standard cooling system was replaced with a custom one, and the board was modified using shunting. This allowed them to bypass the power controllers and remove all power consumption limits — at peak, the graphics card started consuming up to 550W.

In general, yes, 550W of power essentially does not help this graphics card at all.
