Patch 040d for path of exile 2 is coming out this week key changes and fixes

The developers of Path of Exile 2 have announced the release of patch 0.4.0d this week. The update will bring a number of important improvements to the game mechanics, bug fixes, and balance adjustments — the most notable changes will affect the "Fate of Vaal" league.

Major changes in the "Fate of Vaal" league

Significant improvements have been made to the Temple of Azir, which will make it more convenient and understandable to complete:

  • Respawn after death. Players who die during battles with the Architect or Azir bosses can now respawn in a new instance of the Temple with most of the content removed, similar to endgame maps.
  • Simplified Temple management. Now, to open the Temple, you need to place at least one room per visit. This will help avoid accidental mistakes and better orient new players. Workaround: hold Ctrl while clicking the "Start Temple" button (gamepad users will see a confirmation prompt).
  • Feedback on the map. The Temple map now shows whether a room is complete or unavailable. Hovering over a room displays possible improvements.
  • Updated descriptions. Explanations have been added to Acira's Chambers (how to unlock a room) and the keyword "Temple Destabilization" has been clarified (the difference between random destabilization and destabilization upon completing a room).

Boss and monster balance

The developers have adjusted the damage of a number of enemies:

  • Reduced damage of Bahlak, Seer of the Skies (Trial of Chaos).
  • Increased damage of Uxmal, Lord of Beasts (Trial of Chaos).
  • All variants of Quadrilla monsters have been strengthened.
  • Damage from the bosses Vornas, Scorching Flame, and Morvak, Hellish, has been reduced.

New Features and Interface Improvements

The patch adds useful features and makes the interface more informative:

  • The character sheet now displays the amount of armor, evasion, and energy shield from equipment.
  • Tooltips for spirit-reserving skills show the total amount reserved.
  • Enhancement names are now visible in enemy tooltips.
  • Significant anointments on the Passive Skill Tree can be viewed by holding Alt (no longer required to first select a distilled emotion).
  • Visual improvements: 2D graphics for inserted enhancements now match what was inserted.

Key bug fixes

The developers have fixed a number of issues that interfered with gameplay:

  • Fixed crashes on consoles (Xbox Series X, PS5), including the invisible Phoenix dodge effect on PS5 and blurry textures on Xbox.
  • Fixed bugs with unique items and reliquaries (e.g., inability to open a reliquary in split-screen co-op mode).
  • Fixed issues with skills (Devour, Phantom Arrow, Spectral Flame, etc.).
  • Fixed bugs with rewards in the Fate of Vaal league locations.
  • Fixed bugs with modifiers and passive atlas nodes.
  • Fixed issues with druid dialogues and cosmetic effects.

Patch 0.4.0d makes the game more stable and user-friendly, especially for newcomers to the Temple of Acira. Interface improvements will help you navigate the mechanics more quickly, and balance adjustments will allow you to take a fresh look at battle tactics. Fixed bugs and crashes will improve the gaming experience on all platforms.
