Night Vision and Tactical Horror: What Nightfall Will Be Like in Battlefield 6
The devs behind Battlefield 6 released a new development diary outlining what's coming. The standout addition is a temporary mode called Nightfall, due in mid‑March. When darkness settles over the new map, long sightlines vanish and your ears matter more than usual; squads that can't coordinate will feel it fast. Night vision goggles show up as a gameplay lever—tbh, they shift decision-making toward who moves, who watches, and when to trust sound over sight.
The patch also touches progression: Weapon Mastery should advance faster and with fewer hiccups, cutting some of the grind. Pings get a fix—marks from reconnaissance drones will now display properly for your squad (i.e., no more phantom blips). Later this season the team says it will reduce visual clutter and make markers easier to read, though specifics are still forthcoming.
