MSI has unveiled its new MPG CoreFrozr AP15 and AP17 coolers with displays
MSI has updated its line of air cooling systems with two new models: the MPG CoreFrozr AP15 and AP17. Their main distinguishing feature is built-in displays capable of showing both system information and user images.
The higher-end AP17 model is equipped with a 6-inch screen with extensive customization options. Using proprietary software, owners can upload their own static or animated images. In addition, the display allows you to view key technical parameters: processor temperature, system load, and fan speed. The screen is removable, although the manufacturer does not explain in which situations it may need to be removed.
The AP15 model is a more compact solution. Its display is focused exclusively on system monitoring. The screen interface is divided into zones, allowing the user to track several important indicators simultaneously. Both models share a well-thought-out design. It is based on a nickel-plated copper base and two radiator towers covered with a protective casing. MSI engineers paid special attention to compatibility with high-profile RAM modules: the heat sinks of the coolers do not cover the DIMM slots, even on micro-ATX motherboards.
At the same time, the technical solutions in the models differ. The AP17 is equipped with eight heat pipes and is positioned as a universal solution. The AP15, in turn, has six heat pipes and is specially optimized to work with AMD Ryzen X3D series processors.
