Microsoft showed the first photos of the Xbox Project Helix devkit — either a console or a PC
Lately Project Helix has been the topic of a lot of chatter, though what it actually is (and when it might appear) remains murky. A few hints surfaced via the Game Development at Microsoft account on X, apparently aimed at GDC 2026.
Three grainy photos do the heavy lifting here. They’re shot from odd angles and heavily zoomed, so details are fuzzy — esp. the finer ports and textures. The object in the pictures reads like a devkit: it could be a new green-branded console, or just a PC dressed up to look like one.
Close-ups show the letters XDK on the casing, plus an HDMI logo badge. There’s also a frame that mentions a disk drive, which raises more questions than answers (i.e., optical media or placeholder?).
In the comments, a familiar ritual unfolded: armchair experts compared the silhouette and vents to the Xbox One devkit. Many guesses, few certainties.
