Fans, exhale: some old ghosts are auditioning for a comeback. Hulu has reportedly given the "green light" to a pilot for a reboot of the cult series The X-Files.
Daniél Dédouailer — previously approved — will be joined by Himesh Patel. Neither is stepping into the exact shoes of Mulder or Scully; both will play new, original characters.
The setup sounds familiar and odd at once: two differently ranked FBI (U.S.) agents, officially titled but at odds in temperament, are forced into a partnership. Their workspace is a long-abandoned department that handles unexplained phenomena — think dusty case files, weird late-night calls, and a bureaucracy that forgot what it used to fear.
