Manor Lords Plans Significant Gameplay Changes

The developers of the medieval city-building strategy Manor Lords have released a fresh beta update, available on the Beta Branch. The patch introduces a number of important changes to the game's mechanics and expands its content, offering players new opportunities and an improved gaming experience.

One of the key additions is Burgage Plot Level 3 — a new plot level that has received its own unique models, requirements, and effects. At the same time, the previous Level 3 design has been moved to the Level 4 position, which has allowed for an expansion of the settlement development gradation and added depth to the building process.

Now the Settlement Level is determined not by the number of built-up plots, but by the number of families living in it. This change shifts the players' focus — now, for successful development, it is necessary to actively care about the demography and well-being of the inhabitants, not just about expanding the infrastructure.

A new map, Twin Lakes, has also been added to the game. Its picturesque landscape with lakes and hills offers players fresh challenges: they will have to think through the placement of buildings and roads taking into account the terrain features, as well as look for optimal ways to distribute resources.

In addition to major additions, the update includes a number of important fixes and improvements. The developers have adjusted the ox guiding rules, refined the behavior of the artificial intelligence — in particular, improved the logic of NPC actions and trade caravans. Balancing adjustments have also been made: revised resource costs, production speeds, and other economic parameters affecting the gameplay.

The game's interface has received updates — tooltips have become clearer, and text descriptions more accurate. Furthermore, many bugs in various game systems have been fixed: from agriculture to combat mechanics. Performance optimization deserves special attention — players building large cities with high building density should notice a noticeable FPS increase.
