Lets take a look at what the 30 update brought to wuthering waves part 2

# Let's take a look at what the 3.0 update brought to Wuthering Waves (part 2) Sticking to the official schedule, on January 15, the second key part of the rather large 3.0 update called "We Who See the Stars" became available in the anime gacha Wuthering Waves. Without any client updates, a new story quest, character, weapon, event, and several additional items became available in the game. In this article, we will take a detailed look at all of this. Looking ahead a little, in my opinion, the update did not need to be split, as the second part is significantly smaller in terms of content.

Story 20 days after the release of update 3.0, the third story quest of the third chapter, titled Ode to the Second Sunrise, finally became available in the game. It is quite short, but in my opinion, it is the most important (at least in terms of lore and narrative). After completing it, you will receive a large amount of special experience to level up your bike and, perhaps most importantly, a special item that will unlock the final star of the main character's air spec. After that, in addition to unlocking a nice passive skill, you will also automatically receive a unique animated profile title called "The Vanguard Gale."

During the quest, you will learn more about the past of a girl named Mornye, who is a key character in the entire quest, find out how Lynae (a key character in the first two quests) is doing, meet various new characters related to the local tribe, hear a story about the distant and mysterious past of the new region, which will likely reveal the final goal of the entire story chapter, thwart the plans of one of the very obvious local villains, and finally help Mornye launch a new artificial sun. At the end of the quest, the mysterious pink-haired girl is mentioned again, who, as we already know, is named Aemeath and will appear in update 3.1.

Plot features The key features of the plot are as follows:

  • Fortunately, this time around, you can skip most of the useless long running around from point A to point B by talking to an optional NPC and selecting an option along the lines of "I'm ready to move on."
  • You complete the most important segments of the quest as two temporary characters - Mornye and the main character in havoc spec (how I dislike it).
  • During the quest, you will only have to fight one simple boss - a slightly modified version of the world boss Reactor Husk called Reactor Husk: Duskfall's Blaze. It differs in the absence of the left arm destruction mechanic and a set of additional attacks.
  • As with the second story quest, the finale is done in a nice, interactive way. Riding a bike, you need to get to the falling structure, dodging all kinds of enemy attacks along the way with the help of special temporary bike attack modules and quick-time events.

After completing the story quest, a very short side quest called "The Sea Just Within Reach" automatically becomes available. Its essence is very simple - you and Mornye need to ride through an underwater tunnel, look at holograms of fish, and listen to a dialogue. If I understand correctly, in order to complete the quest, this tunnel must be restored, which means that you will first have to contribute resources to the corresponding terminal of the Operation: Frontier Renewal system.

Also, after completing the story quest, the location where the aforementioned world boss Reactor Husk resides is completely changed. Debris from a huge structure falls there, partially destroying some of the surrounding objects and filling the boss arena with fire.

New character Two new temporary banners have been added to the game and four old ones have been brought back:

  • The "Distant May the Starlight Be" banner allows you to get a new character - the girl named Mornye, who has been mentioned several times above. She is a pretty good support character with a couple of interesting features. If it weren't for Aemeath looming on the horizon (after all, 3.1 isn't that far away) with her possibly damn convenient flight mechanics, I would definitely try to get her.
  • The "Absolute Pulsation" banner allows you to obtain a new weapon - a two-handed sword called Starfield Calibrator. It has a gorgeous appearance and, of course, is ideal for Mornye.
  • The old banners allow you to obtain two female characters, Augusta and Luno, and their corresponding weapons.

Briefly about the key features of the new character:

  • In a group, she performs exclusively the role of support, buffer, and amplifier of the new tune break mechanic.
  • She uses Fusion (fire) as her main elemental element.
  • The character's first and second stars are very useful. The first enhances one of the main effects of the first mechanic, and the second adds an effect that increases critical damage for all group members (up to +32%).
  • The character has a total of two unique mechanics, which we will briefly discuss below.

First - by striking (even in the air), the character gradually fills a special energy bar; a total of 3 strikes are required. After filling the bar by holding down the attack button, the character creates a fairly wide field and enters flight mode.

  • The field automatically disappears after a full 30 seconds.
  • While the character is inside the field, they automatically receive two constantly updated buffs, as well as an invisible effect that increases resistance to interruptions.
  • The first buff heals the character by a certain amount every 3 seconds, with the strength scaling from the defense stat. The second buff increases the speed of filling the tune break mechanic bar by 50%.
  • In addition to the first mechanic, the field can also be activated with the intro ability and ultimate.
  • To be precise, the ultimate activates an improved version of the field with an additional effect of increasing healing power by 40% and defense by 20%.
  • The character remains in flight mode for approximately 35 seconds, after which it immediately deactivates. It can also be deactivated manually by pressing the jump button.
  • The mode can also be used outside the field. This is perhaps its biggest advantage.
  • You can move at normal speed and acceleration. Both options gradually consume stamina energy, but the first is much slower than the second. In terms of speed, in my opinion, the mode is much slower than normal flight from the Rinascita region and the flight of the character Aemeath, at least based on the demonstration in a recent leak.
