A new batch of production stills has leaked — Lobo shows up, Zor‑El stands framed, Kreem scowls, and several members of Kara’s fam. appear in domestic scenes. These images hint at backstory: the film aims to peel back Kara Zor‑El’s past, sketching her life on Krypton and the incidents that pushed her toward heroism.
David Krumholtz is now on board as Zor‑El, while Emily Beecham takes the part of Alura In‑Ze. Craig Gillespie, the director, says the cast tackled original Kryptonian dialogue and lengthy, demanding sequences; actors reportedly rehearsed heavily to land the tonal shifts and page‑long exchanges.
A fresh villain turns up too — Kreem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts. He’s tracked by young Ruthie Mary Noll (Eve Ridley), and there’s a tight personal stake: Kreem poisons Krypto, Kara’s superdog, so the search for an antidote becomes urgent and emotional (i.e., not just a MacGuffin).
We also get expanded looks at Krypton and Argo — more than set dressing, the places are presented as lived spaces that explain, in ways small and blunt, how Kara grew up. The Supergirl premiere is set for June 26; a new trailer is due out today.
