Kromlech Developers Prepare a Series of Updates After Game Launch
The creators of the action RPG Kromlech posted a rundown of what’s coming after launch and thanked players for their reports and impressions. That feedback will shape several tweaks and fixes over the next few weeks.
A big chunk of the work is about optimization. Recent changes to the vegetation system should shave roughly 20 GB off the install size. The team is also chasing performance problems, esp. on certain GPUs where bottlenecks show up most often — not a simple driver tweak, but ongoing profiling and targeted fixes.
Load times are getting attention, too. Death will no longer force a full world reload; instead players will be able to respawn instantly, cutting the frustration of repeated long waits. The devs are also trimming loads when leaving dungeons and in other choke points around the game.
On the gameplay side, expect an easier opening stretch. Starter weapons will be more effective and early enemy encounters will be less punishing for newcomers. A proper tutorial level is in the works — basically a safe space to learn combat and basic systems (i.e., practice without losing progress).
A hotfix containing balance changes, the new death/respawn system and the first pieces of the tutorial is scheduled for release today. Fingers crossed it lands cleanly and actually improves the experience for players.
