Simon McQuoid, returning to the director's chair, and Jeremy Slater ("The Umbrella Academy"), who came up with the story, are this time bringing Shao Kahn himself down to Earth. The video shows different worlds and fighters (there's even a poster for clarity), but at the epicenter of it all is Johnny Cage, entering the Mortal Kombat for the first time — everything revolves around the charismatic, universally beloved character, excellently portrayed by Karl Urban.
