John Carpenter's Toxic Commando Gets a Cool Animated Video and Assault Class Trailer

A fresh animated video for John Carpenter's Toxic Commando shows a zombie rave in the ruins of a church. The zombie shooter also received a gameplay trailer for the "Assault" class.

The first video shows a crowd of survivors throwing a party to a track by the artist GUNSHIP. Caught up in the fun, they don't notice they're starting to mutate into zombies. The organizer turns into a grotesque monster with slimy tentacles and a bunch of eyes. The protagonists arrive on the scene and, to driving music, tear the creatures apart.

The second video shows gameplay for the Assault class. Their role in the team is to deal as much damage as possible. Strategy and tactics aren't so important when you have a device that hurls fireballs in your hands. The further the hero is upgraded, the stronger their attacks and the more powerful the explosions. Over time, they also gain faster reload speed, increased weapon effectiveness, and new ways to destroy hordes of monsters and walking dead.

Previously, we received gameplay trailers for two other classes — the Engineer and the Medic. All that remains is to wait for the video about the Defender.

Recall that John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is set to release on March 12, 2026. The shooter will arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. It's already available to try in a demo version. Unfortunately, it received mixed reviews.
