Intel Nova Lake — the next generation Core Ultra 400 processors will be delayed until 2027

Fresh details about Intel’s long-term plans have appeared online. According to the latest leaks, the new Nova Lake-S chips from the Ultra 400 series will debut only at CES 2027. This means Intel is taking a brief pause in the generation race to focus on a radical redesign of their chips. AMD likely has similar plans with Zen 6.

Nova Lake-S is called the most ambitious project of the company in recent years. The processors are expected to deliver colossal performance gains thanks to completely new core architectures. Rumor has it the company plans such significant changes that Nova Lake might become as important a milestone for Intel as the launch of the first Core processors once was.

The main goal is not just to increase clock speeds, but to fundamentally improve AI performance and cache memory handling.

Nova Lake will require the purchase of new motherboards with an LGA-1954 socket. This means that Ultra 200 and their refreshes will be the only processors for LGA-1851.
