Intel: "AMD's integrated graphics are not competitive." But the "blues" won't have their own competitor for Strix Halo.

Intel amds integrated graphics are not competitive but the blues wont have their own competitor for strix halo

Intel's Tom Petersen directly stated that AMD's current integrated graphics (Radeon 890M and even the new chips) lose to Intel in terms of performance per watt. According to him, Intel is focused on efficiency, while AMD is "simply increasing power at the expense of energy consumption."

At the same time, Intel has no and will have no competitor for the monstrous AMD Strix Halo — this is also an official statement. Petersen believes that such solutions with excessively powerful integrated graphics are a "dead-end branch" of technology development.

Intel claims that its new integrated graphics in Panther Lake is on average 10% faster than the mobile RTX 4050 with a 60W limit. However, Intel says nothing about the power consumption of its integrated graphics in the tests where it outperforms this discrete "green" graphics.
