Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Add-on with Multiplayer Hero Voiceover Amuses Players
Alongside the 12th major update, the action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 received the Techmarine class, a new mission, and expanded multiplayer character customization. For the latter, several cosmetic packs were released, including Chapter Voice Pack 1. And it has sparked anger and ridicule from players.
The "Chapter Voice" pack includes unique head variants for the hero and 450 brand new voice lines (in all available dubbing languages) for the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, and Black Templars chapters. Is it worth 279 rubles? Judging by the "Mostly Negative" user reviews on Steam, the Space Marines don't think so.
Players were skeptical about the "canonicity" of the black variant of the Space Wolves chapter fighter's head. In the Russian dubbing of the new lines, not everyone liked the casting of the voice actors. Gamers also complain that even with the DLC, some lines remain standard, and members of different chapters still refer to themselves as Space Marines.
Other recent cosmetics in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 don't have mass complaint issues. It's possible that Saber Interactive will take the feedback into account for future voice packs. The number in the name Chapter Voice Pack 1 hints that this won't be the only add-on of its kind.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was released in September 2024. The game's sales have exceeded seven million copies, and recently its Discord server surpassed the 100,000 member mark.
