Warzone Season 2 to Launch New Iron Gauntlet Ranked Mode
Raven Software has announced changes for the second season of Call of Duty: Warzone. The traditional ranked mode on large maps will be replaced by a new mode called Iron Gauntlet.
It is a reworked version of the old Iron Trials mode and offers updated rules for health, loot, and equipment.
Iron Gauntlet will be activated periodically, alternating with the return of the Resurgence ranked mode on the map of the same name. This approach will allow players to focus on a single competitive format, ensuring more balanced matchmaking and exciting competition.
Furthermore, the season will kick off the Warzone Resurgence Series tournament circuit with online qualifiers and three LAN tournaments, boasting a total prize pool of $1.2 million.
Warzone Season 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launch on February 5, 2026. Players will be able to try out Iron Gauntlet and other updates, while the developers will continue gathering feedback to shape the game's long-term competitive ecosystem.
