Counter-Strike 2 Experts Rate BC.Game's Chances of Making the Major Below 20%
Analyst Mischief has updated his predictions for participation in the IEM Cologne 2026 Major for Counter-Strike 2. According to the new model, the chances of BC.Game Esports with Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev have dropped to 17.6%.
The main factor in the decline is the elimination from the Parken Challenger Championship. The team failed to earn enough rating points, while simultaneously, their competitors performed more successfully. In Valve's system, not only your own victory matters, but also the results of your opponents.
BC.Game has been performing inconsistently in recent months. The roster with s1mple periodically demonstrates a high individual level, but over the long haul, the team lacks cohesion. The problems manifest in:
- Poor conversion of advantages on the CT side.
- Unstable play in clutch situations.
- A narrow map pool against disciplined opponents.
After the elimination at Parken, the team did not compensate for the point loss with a quick result at another LAN. At the same time, competitors were actively gaining rating by participating in open events. If BC.Game does not deliver a strong performance at the upcoming tournament, the chances will drop even lower — at 17.6%, the team is already outside the projected qualification zone.
Expectations for the project were at their maximum with the arrival of s1mple. The team received a huge media boost, but the sporting results have not yet met expectations. In the conditions of a fierce VRS race, the absence of one or two stable LAN appearances can be fatal. Valve's system rewards activity and depth, which is clearly not yet observed in this roster.
HOTU, on the contrary, took advantage of the window of opportunity. Victory at the Roman Imperium Cup V allowed the team to sharply close the gap and enter the zone of real competition for a slot.
According to Mischief's updated data:
- Team Vitality, PARIVISION, and Team Falcons have practically guaranteed their participation (around 99%).
- MOUZ, Team Spirit, and Aurora Gaming are also in the "green zone."
- Natus Vincere and G2 Esports remain in a relatively safe position but do not have a 100% guarantee.
In the risk zone are:
- HEROIC (around 47%) — the team is undergoing a roster rebuild.
- Ninjas in Pyjamas — a series of average performances and a lack of playoff runs.
- Team Liquid — good local results, but insufficient LAN points.
- BIG — unsuccessful campaigns at the start of the season.
- BC.Game Esports — rating drop after Parken.
Invitations to IEM Cologne will be sent on April 6th based on the current Valve ranking. Europe has 17 slots, distributed across three stages. BC.Game still retains a mathematical chance, but the team needs a strong result in the coming weeks.
