In Russia, reports emerge about issues with Civilization 6 and other 2K games on PlayStation
Reported by 2K (owned by Take-Two Interactive). The focus is on Sid Meier’s Civilization VI and NBA 2K25. Civ VI apparently "does not load beyond the initial screen"; NBA 2K25 shows a connection error. SHOT also says the company "confirmed the unavailability of its games to users from Russia."
At the time of writing Updated: 2K support suggested the problems may stem from "regional restrictions and features." They did not explicitly confirm targeted blocking in Russia. For connection troubles, 2K pointed to usual checks; also, a reminder: make sure your usr/acc region settings match — where the purchase was made; from which user access is obtained; what is indicated in 2K, NBA, or SHiFT accounts; what is specified in platform accounts.
Officially, 2K projects haven't been sold in Russia since 2022. Still, many players in the country keep seeking these titles; some even crop up in local top lists and receive full localization.
